Schedule of Fines

The following information is being provided for payment of fines. You may either pay your fine or appear in court on your designated court date to dispute the charge against you. Failure to appear in court or pay fines, may result in an additional fine for failure to appear and a warrant being issued for your arrest.

The current payment schedule is available under the Schedule of Fines tab.  Fines are payable in person at the Court Payment Center inside Smithville City Hall or by mail, or online at TrafficPayment.com.

  • Payment in Person: Payment in person may be made by cash, money orders, cashier's checks or credit card. Personal checks are not accepted. When making a payment by credit card, please bring an I.D.
  • Payment by Mail: Payments by mail may be made by money orders or cashier's checks only.Personal checks are not accepted. When paying a citation by mail, it is an automatic plea of guilt for the offense charged. Do not send cash by mail; payment may by made only by cashier's check or money order.
  • Online Payment:  If paying online, you may not pay warrants or past due tickets.  This service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  The system will give you a receipt.  Please note that there is a 5% processing fee when paying online.

No personal checks will be accepted for fines. Proper forms of payment are cash, cashiers check, or money orders. These can be brought or mailed to:

  • Charge of speeding more than 20 mph over speed limit is a mandatory court appearance.

State mandated court costs of $27.50 are included in each violation above. **Except motorcycle headgear violations, seat belt violations are exempt if costs have been assessed in companion charges.

The following violations are court mandatory appearances. These do not have pay out fines:

  • Driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs
  • Driving while suspended or revoked
  • Possession of Narcotics
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Open container
  • Minor in possession of Narcotics, Cigarettes, Alcohol
  • Leaving the scene of an accident

This order does not apply to traffic offenses which involve property damage or personal injury. Rule 37.49, Supreme Court of Missouri Rules of Procedures.
