- Worked on organizing Meals on Wheels for Thanksgiving
- The Senior Center will be closed Wed 11/26-11/28 for Thanksgiving
- Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Improvements – Filter #1 at the water plant is almost done receiving new filter media. It should be completed next week. Samples will have to be taken before the filter can be put back in service.
- Commercial Sidewalk - The new contractor, Selby Excavating LLC, began work on Nov 3 and has made progress on the south side of the project near the school.
- The northbound lane of Commercial Avenue (From Stonebridge to Hospital Drive) will be closed from 7 am to 5 pm from November 5 – Nov 19 to allow the contractor to complete work near the school. As work near the school is completed, the contractor will begin moving north. Starting November 19, the northbound lane of Commercial Avenue will be closed from Hospital Drive to Meadows Street. The project is anticipated to be completed in January, weather permitting.
- 144th Pump Station (PS) – Epic is making substantial progress with the pump station wet well and force main. Force Main from HWY 169 north to Hwy 92 is nearly complete. The bore under 169 HWY for the 144th street project is underway now.
- Church and Mill watermain replacement – The waterline tie in has been completed. Pending items include street repairs and cleanup. The intersection of Main St and Mill St will be closed on November 17 and 18 to allow the contractor to repair the road.
- City Hall Sewer line repair - Pending board approval this project will start the week of November 24. Main st is expected to be closed in front of City Hall while this project is completed.
- OK Trail – Bids opened 10/28 and will be awarded 12/4 pending DNR’s approval.
- Street Maintenance Program – Awarded to Asphaltic Surfaces. With the Commercial Sidewalk project delayed, the overlay of the Commercial Avenue will be completed next Spring.
- 169/Richardson Signal application for Cost Share was submitted on 10/3
Maintenance Updates
- Parks
- Set up Christmas decorations at the courtyard and on the mayor’s Christmas tree
- Continuing to work on the Turkey Trot 5K course
- If all goes well this week, the Diamond Crest parking lot should be asphalted on Friday
- Streets
- Inspected GFI plugs and verified power restoration from last week’s replacements.
- Finalized concrete work along Highway 169 (curb and sidewalk replacement at 124 169 Highway).
- Installed new signage and existing traffic control devices where needed.
- Checked and cleaned drainage ditches to ensure proper flow before winter precipitation.
- Conducted winter equipment checks, including plow blades and salt spreaders.
- Assisted the Utilities Department with water break response: Set up traffic control and road closure signage.
- Preparing additional riprap material using recycled concrete for drainage projects.
- Continuing coordination with Parks and Utilities Departments for upcoming joint work orders.
- Began scheduling snow route readiness checks and test runs.
- Utilities
- Total Drinking Water Production 6,770,000 gal
- Treated 4,642,000 gallons of wastewater
- Completed 20 work orders and 53 locates
- Completed all testing required at the WTP and WWTP
- The new header is installed on filter #1 at the WTP. Crews will be working on installing new grout and anchors this week.
- Staff finished plumbing a new raw water sample line into the lab to eliminate a yard hydrant as a sample point. This will involve installing around 100 feet of ¾” poly through the concrete wall of the water plant
- Staff collected 5 Bac’t samples from the water distribution system
- Staff installed a new polymer chemical feed pump at the WTP and installed a new feed line
- Staff installed a new Alum chemical feed pump at the WTP and installed a new feed line
- Staff completed the first round of dead-end water main flushing for the fall
- Staff repaired a water main break at 208 West Meadow Street.
- Staff winterized all above ground lift stations.
- Staff added monthly sewer chemicals.
- Staff cleaned the loader, mini excavator and trailer.
- Staff repaired the yard on 136th Street where the service had been repaired.
- Staff assisted the Army Corps of Engineers and winterized the copper ion system.
