She presented with Brian Riblet, City Manager of Montgomery, OH and Brandon Perkins, Town Manager of Tyrone, GA.

- Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Improvements – Work continues to progress removing the asbestos under drain in Filter 1. The new header is being installed and filter 1 should be operational in next couple weeks. The new headers for Filters 2 and 3 are onsite. Asbestos samples continue to be non-detect.
- Commercial Sidewalk - The contractor originally awarded the Commercial Avenue Pedestrian Project informed the City they were ceasing operations and would not be able to complete the work.
The new contractor, Selby Excavating LLC, will begin work on Monday, November 3, on the south side of the project near the school. Commercial Avenue will be intermittently closed to allow the contractor to complete the work. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-January. - 144th Pump Station (PS) – Epic is making substantial progress with the pump station wet well and force main. Project is approximately 30% complete. Force Main from HWY 169 north to Hwy 92 is nearly complete. Boring Hwy 169 has started.
- Street Maintenance Program – Awarded to Asphaltic Surfaces. With the Commercial Sidewalk project delayed, the overlay of the street will be completed next Spring.
- Sidewalk Program – Street Division completed the sidewalks in Harborview. Residents should be receiving invoices in the mail.
- Church and Mill watermain replacement – Contractor will be ready to complete the tie-in and switch over services next week. Cleanup and disconnecting the old main will be final work items to complete this project.
- OK Trail – Bids opened 10/28 and will be awarded 11/18 pending DNR’s approval.
- 169/Richardson Signal application for Cost Share was submitted on 10/3
Maintenance Updates
- Parks
- Starting Fall decoration clean-up to prepare for Christmas decorations.
- End-of-season aeration, fertilizing, and seeding were completed on all sports fields.
- Cleaned and sharpened chainsaws to prepare for some tree trimming this winter
- Set up the new ice maker for the Senior Center
- Streets
- Continued mowing, sweeping, and drainage work throughout the city.
- Completed spot repairs on asphalt and storm boxes.
- Performed equipment service and winter readiness inspections.
- Removed rotten fence posts behind City Hall dumpster area, replaced with new treated 6x6 posts, and reassembled fence panels.
- Placed concrete around fence posts to finalize the repair.
- Swept all areas south of Meadow and east of Commercial.
- Mowed throughout the city
- Culvert inspection at 402 Fifth Street
- Confirmed suitability for a 15-inch culvert matching downstream size.
- Investigated sinking area in roadway at Fairview Crossing.
- Checked curb height concern at 102 Lakeland Drive.
- Completed sealing on Fletcher Drive, Fletcher Court, and Marina Drive.
- Installed:
- 5 sign bases, 5 telespar posts, and 5 Police Parking Only signs behind City Hall.
- 2 six-foot parking blocks in front of storm drain at Senior Center lot.
- Installed snowplows and salt spreaders on trucks
- Conducted snow removal training with Public Works and Parks Departments
- Utilities
- Total Drinking Water Production 6,344,000 gal.
- Completed all testing required at the WTP.
- The new header is installed on filter #1 at the WTP. Crews will be working on installing new grout and anchors this week.
- Completed 24 work orders
- 60 locates completed
- Completed all testing required at WWTP
- Treated 3,828,000 gallons of wastewater
- Staff completed monthly water disconnects for non-payment.
- Staff completed monthly meter reads and re-reads.
- Staff came in on Sunday to repair a water main break on South Commercial.
- Staff is still working on completing the first round of fall dead end water main flushing.
- Completed the last E-coli sample for the year at the WWTP.
- Clay County Parks had 2 large water leaks, staff had to come in Saturday to shut down their service until the leak was repaired.
