Did You Know - You Should Not Blow Your Grass Clippings into the Street
One of the major problems with grass clippings blown into the street is that they clog stormwater drainage systems and prevent them from working properly.
Grass clippings are also a traffic hazard. Freshly cut grass mostly consists of water and acts like a sheet of ice and can cause a motorcyclist or bicyclist to lose traction and crash.
Solutions for grass clippings:
- Use mulching blades on the mower.
- Leave grass clippings on your lawn.
- Yard waste pickup (included in the solid waste contract with GFL)
