Senior Services Updates
  • Working on Clay County Senior Services quarterly reports and 2027 grant requests.
  • We enjoyed our June birthday party with a full house for fried chicken and a delicious cake provided by Terrace Park
  • Thank you to Kristie from Right at Home for sponsoring this week’s Super Bingo!
  • There’s still time to join the Line Dancing group for July and August classes. We welcomed a large group on Monday, who mastered waltz steps!

Maintenance Updates

  • Parks
    • Completed 31 hours of brush mowing, approximately 71 acres
    • Installed fencing at Diamond Crest to enclose the playground area
    • Installed split rail fence on OK Railroad Trail
    • Cleaned up leaves sand weeds behind City Hall
    • Hauled millings to improve road to Scout Camping Area
  • Streets
    • Mowed Second Creek lot and along the sidewalk of 169, Martin Rd, Center St, Wise Rd, Amory Rd and Virginia Ave.
    • Filled potholes on NE 180th St and Second Creek Bridge
    • Shop maintenance.
    • Hauled rock for water main break at 124 N. 169 Hwy
    • Street sweeper work at Lake Meadows, Clay Creek and Diamond Crest.
    • Cleaned storm drains at Main St & Mill St and 2409 NE 158th St.
    • Replaced broom head on street sweeper, replaced door locks on shop door.
    Utilities
    • Total Drinking Water Production 7,041,000 gal.
    • Completed all testing required at the WTP.
    • Conducted weekly chemical level checks at the WTP for ordering.
    • Backwashed filters 1,2,3,4 and 5 at the WTP.
    • Continued working on project high service pump room rehabilitation at the WTP. Currently painting blue and replacing bolts.
    • Completed grounds maintenance at the WTP. 
    • Completed prep work to install a new chlorine analyzer at the WTP. 
    • Completed 21 work orders
    • 104 locates completed
    • Completed 2 new water service connections. 
    • Completed all testing required at WWTP
    • Treated 7,303,000 gallons of wastewater
    • Completed weekly checks of all booster station and towers in the distribution system.
    • Repaired the road at 402 south Bridge Street after a service line replacement. 
    • Staff repaired an emergency water main break at 124 N. 169 HWY.  
    • Staff conducted fire hydrant checks and flushing of 41 hydrants located near the Smithville schools. 6 flow tests were also conducted. 
    • Staff reported to Quail ridge lift station due to no run times on pump #2. Conducted a float test and checked electrical connections and found that the pump is working fine. 
    • Completed grounds maintenance at the WWTP. 
    • Staff collected and delivered 10 E-coli samples for the WWTP. 
    • Staff repaired the fire hydrant at 520 Sunny Ct.
